Rest my eyes from this delusion, I'm so out of place.
I've picked up the broken pieces, still I've fallen from your grace.
Never can I feel the silk of your skin against my face.
But I promise you I'll make it through this.

If I die peacefully, don't shed tears for me.
Don't say you miss me when you never loved me.
Don't go begging God to bring me back to life.
I'm fine at the end of the reaper's scythe.

I never thought I would be here, serving on my knees.
I never thought I would see you, leaning over me.
You healed me of my illusion of my omnipotence.
Even though it was at my own expense.

Tear me down, and build on top of me.
Let me down, and destroy my legacy.
Don't pray to God to help you through this.
I'll be fine til the end of the reaper's kiss.
