When you dance at night,

only the moon is there

But the moon

does not know joy

It is cold and distant

Just  a pale eye--watching

You may walk the hard road

But it cares not for

It lies, sleeping

You, only trodding roughly

On its belly

As you reach for the stars

they do not reach back

How can they learn of dreams

If they never sleep?

They only blink

At your fingers stretching

When you curse the universe

And cry out in anguish

It cannot hear you

In all of its infinity

It does not

have ears

The clouds won't shed tears

And the sun does

not rise In companion

with you

For the sky

has no soul

It is folly to believe

That, though

You live in the universe.

The universe lives

At all
