Twisting Yarn

Today I’m going to

plait a rope

but not because

I’ve lost all hope.

No this is one

to make things better,

an emotional

re-setter.

Yarn I’ll use

of different shades,

colored so it will

not fade.

One for love,

one for wishes,

one for all

the dreamed of kisses.

One for hope

and one for dreams,

one to smother

up my screams.

I plait it tight,

I twist it long,

I hum myself

a little song.

When things start

to get me down,

bring to me

a saddened frown,

I’ll tie a knot,

to catch my madness,

to tamper down

my desperate sadness.

Maybe this twisted

piece of rope

will knot emotions

and I’ll cope.
