In the quiet empty of the space of the prairies,

the light of the stars wasn’t enough.

So they built cities to fill the in-betweens,

built lights to fill the darkness,

built traffic and small talk to fill the silence,

and ignored the starlight,

the moonlight,

the wind whispering through fields and space,

the wild winding spirit through their fields.
