To be a proud American,

Is to bleed red, white and blue.

Couldn’t it be?

That pride could bleed,

Rainbow too?

To bleed red, white and blue,

Live and die for your country.

That is what you call

Pride

What is pride but,

An acknowledgment of who you are,

And of a history that can’t be forgotten.

That’s something each one of us has,

Shared history,

Shared moments,

Shared events.

That even in the face of tragedy.

We do not forget our shared moments,

We do not allow darkness to drive us apart,

That even in our differences that we show…

Reverence for one another,

A respect that doesn’t know:

Race,

Religion,

Sexual Orientation,

 Or Political Affiliation.

I can still live and die

For the same country

The same love

The same

Freedoms.

For what difference does it make?

On who I love

When a love for your country

Can come in all the colors of the rainbow.
