I am my own light at the end of the tunnel… and it sometimes seems more like a funnel… as it all spirals down.  I also am my own best friend… on who I can depend when times get rough… my confidante, whom I can tell my woes and thoughts and dreams to… and, my ego booster.. to pep talk myself and raise my morale in the face of challenges… oh, and I’m my own whipping boy, the one that gets beat for mistakes.. not only mine, but those I feel I took part in… I’m my own brother… to compete against and challenge myself beside… I’m my own slave, forced to do whatever dirty, dull, demeaning tasks I need done… I’m my own dog, I take myself for walks… I’m my own God, to whom I do not pray to, just listen for, and am humbled by my knowing wisdom and thankful for my mercy… I am my own secretary… to plan and schedule and budget and fail to meet my own goals. I’m my own pillow to rest on… my own team to bet on…I’m my own enemy, to devise evil plans to do away with me…I’m my own stool-pigeon on whom I blame everything… I’m my own CD… I sing songs to me…I’m my own child whom I have to scold and spank and ground, tho usually I escape and run away… til I’m found… I’m my own teacher, who recites lessons I should learn… I’m my own student and I challenge everything I say… think I know a better way… I’m my own security guard to stand behind myself and look scary…I’m my own lawyer, accountant, banker, therapist, trainer, sandwich-maker, roommate and maid… I’m my own guide, I show me the way… I’m my own imaginary friend… the one I constantly talk with to no end…I’m my own shoulder to cry on…My own rations that I have to get by on… I’m my own entertainment, my own demon, my own luggage, my own grave… I am my own soul…and I’m whole… I’m my own thief and I’ve stolen my control…I’m the maker of my own fate and that’s been the whole of my goal.
