It was a warm February day

she said stay where you are and I heard her panic and fear

It was a windy dry Wednesday

she said you were the first person she ever loved

when love is young and babies glow pink

This February they have their baby.

Just as I did.

Just as she did.

When Februarys feel so empty.

She said you were an enigma

Flashing with those sea struck eyes and slippery skin

But it was actually her

Late February is a curious time

for such a watery creature

When February is filled with grief.

It was a cold February evening

The moon shone black

and the whisper of the child was gone

It was a late February blizzard

It was a balmy February Sunday

It was a long February
