take this teaspoon he said

so i took it

and with this teaspoon,

he did drop some oil onto it.

take this teaspoon he said,

and walk through this world,

and when you come back tell me

of the beautiful things you behold,

the splendid mountains,

the trepid waters,

tell me of its people, and creatures

its cultures, and behaviors.

come back, but within that spoon,

must remain the drops of oil.

and so i took the spoon, and

i saw the splendind mountains,

the trepid waters,

i saw of its people, and creatures,

its cultures, its behaviors,

and i came back, and within that spoon,

was all the oil.

but within my knowledge,

i remembered nothing.

nothing of the mountains, or waters.

nothing of its people, or creatures,

cultures or bevahiors.

i had paid too much attention to the self,

and i lost the world.

alas he said, again,

take this teaspoon, and i took it,

and within this teaspoon,

he did drop some oil onto it.

take this teaspoon he said,

and walk through this world,

and when you come back tell me

of the beautiful things you behold.

the sprawling forests, the blazing deserts,

the way they create art, and perform magics,

their meaning of life, and reasonings.

come back, but within that spoon,

must remain the drops of oil.

and so i took the spoon, and

i saw the sprawling forests,

the blazing deserts,

the way they created art, and performed magics,

their meaning of life, and reasonings.

i absorbed it all, learnt and experienced,

i came back enriched, and yet within my spoon,

there was no oil.

i had paid too much attention to the world,

and lost myself.

let this be a lesson he said.
