A solitary canary sits in a cage.  No one engages this, bird, this bird put in the cold small cage.  The bird was once white, once a lovely sight. Its feathers are now grey, dull and stained .  This contained bird refrained from looking into its captors eyes.Instead the  bird looks to the soft blue skies, watching another day arise.  The once white canary is quiet and still.  Looking out the window in its own free will.  The canary is unable to utter a song  Unwilling to speak of the wrongs, it sits silently alone all day long.  It sits in its lovely restricted castle in a corner.  Dreaming of its former self and days that were much warmer.  The cage has collected soft grey dust.  The bars are covered in rust.  The canary was once was a piece of art.  But is now falling apart.  The white canary hasn’t the heart to sing anymore.  What for?  There is no one to listen.  Its captor is distant.  All it wants is someone to notice its existence.
