A really good friend of mine lost her father a little over a year ago. When I heard the news, these words came to me for her.

He laid his head down for the last time tonight

No more laughter in his eyes

No more hugs or kisses'

No more late night conversations

I said "Goodbye" to him one last time tonight

"I will see you soon enough until then be happy"

He whispered as his soul gently left us

My pain is gone, my heart is light

I will always watch over you, no matter what

Do not mourn me for I am here

My body could not go on any longer, my vessel needed rest

Our family welcomes me with open arms here and tell me

To tell you that they love you

I laid my head down for the last time tonight in this word for you all to see

Remember me, do not hold onto me

Love me, do not mourn me

Pray to me, I will always be there for you

For I am with our Creator and family now

Always will be in your heart

I Love You!
