Apples fall on me

Childhood and skinned knees

Ice crystals on falling pears

Crunchy to the deer

Grandma's frozen tears

Mud and the farmer's boots

Apples so shiny

The moon requests a snapshot

Apples fall on me

Childhood and skinned knees

Oh, mother is so tired

Baking all day

On a lazy Saturday

Lilacs outside on the

Side of the barn

Tasting sunshine on a wrinkled tongue

Mother baking an apple pie

Smiles in the

Child's eyes

Oh checkerboard apron

Keep mother from

A life of stains
