This is advice to dreamers that they do not have to have big dreams to be happy and successful.

If everyone could reach the stars

What purpose would be there

For the earth if everyone

Was soaring through the air?

Why is the sky so wonderful

And desirable to us?

What's wrong with the ground?

It's safe and sound,

And something we can trust.

We can live without the stars.

What we need is already ours;

Nothing ever bars our love.

Let them stay where they are.

There's a reason they are far.

We can live without the stars above.

We often take the ground for granted

Because, to us, it's always handed.

Could we ever reach the stars

With no earth from which to leap?

It lets us embrace

The dreams we chase,

And not just touch but keep.

Melancholic Wisdom

An interesting and thought provoking poem. I feel as though we're so obsessed with the sky because it represents the unknown and limitless potential, whereas on the ground we can feel more limited and trapped. Well done.

JE Falcon aka JEF

A very nice poem speaking volumes about excesses and contentment.

Thank you, JEF. Yes, I think most of us struggle with the two throughout our lifetimes.
