COLD TRAILS

Wintery wind blows

January snows.

Icicles drip

While sparrows flit,

In bushes stark and woody.

Sun’s rays are bright,

But lacking warmth,

Ground as hard as marble.

Breath freezes crisp.

In glacial cold air,

Jack Frost works his wonders.

But soon enough,

Buds will appear,

Heralding,

Hailing,

Vociferously,

Naming.

A new beginning,

Springing forth,

Rebirth,

Rejoice,

Resound.
