Colorado’s brisk air stung like beez in a rage.

Numb, still.

Red and blue flashed, lighting the black nights sky.

Bursting sounds of chaos buzzed to a hum.

Tongues twisted

Lips sealed

Throat choked shut.

He always loved to laugh off the stress.

Don’t take life too seriously.

You let things boil and nest in your chest

Until late nights in bed break into panic attacks.

Sharp twisted metal car shards and

Broken blades sprawled by highway.

Passenger door bent outward with no more rider.

Die

He did.

Sometimes the biggest lessons

Are learned after your world is shattered.

Your days are numbered.

Don’t take life too seriously.

He didn’t.
