The Whole of Me

I see him staring in the window

Eyes filled with life, fear, rage

A voice slips through the holes of the weather-beaten frame

Accusing, inquiring, demanding – Who are you? What do you want?

Get out of here! Get away from me or I'll—

Other days nothing, not even a reflection

It makes me wonder if he's real, whether I'm real or apparition

Some random thought in the universe

A single grain of sand upon the boundless beach of time

Pondering my existence, not through depression but wonder

Amazement, an infinite thread of possibilities a decision away

Providing I remain open

Realize it is not only me

There is no, never was, will never be a them

They only exist within my mind

In self-imposed limitations, fretfully scrambling

Scurrying to keep me bound

Ignorant to how truly magnificent I could become

If only I would embrace the whole of me
