A A A

This was temporary relief
Not an immediate addiction
But when the pain inside
Got too intense
It felt better for it
To come from my wrist
My heart would pound in my chest
As the knife cut through
The blood would ooze
And the pain would soothe.

Unhealthy relief though

Comes with a price
A price I found
To be way too
High

When you cry
With blood
Instead of tears
It takes death
Away as one of your fears.

But I had a Light
Deep down inside
That told me it was
Better to cry
Than die
