A long time ago, when the universe was still young, there was a group of aliens called the Caladuerns. They were fascinated with the stars and studied them to try and find out what made them sparkle. The answer was a rare mineral by the name of Qualdirum, which gave off a bright glow and could be converted into countless types of resources. The Caladurns used the qualdirum to create new technology and resources, which in turn, created new forms of life. Different species of alien came flooding to the galaxy to share in the new found wealth of the Caladuerns, bringing with them cultures which helped to enrich the new empire. The Galactic Council was created to help govern the new empire and all aliens were considered equal. But the Caladurens where not happy. They alone wanted to have control over the entire Empire. So they started a string of scandals and secret plots that eliminated half of the Galactic Council, which they later replaced with their own secret representatives, so they could retain control of the Empire's laws.

Slowly, their influence was everywhere. The government, shopkeepers, event the police were corrupted over time. No one seemed to notice though, as they were all too caught up in their own lives to notice how fast things were changing. Then there were the few that noticed the change and spoke out. No one ever saw them again. A few true seers tried to break the Caladuern's influence by storming the cathedral and stealing their Mother core. They never made it past the front gates. The Caladuerns decided to hide the Mother Core away, disguising it and sending it far from the reaches of any resistance member. With the only hope for their salvation gone, the remaining resistance members went into hiding, hoping that one day, someone would be able to locate the mother core and put an end to the rein of the Caladuerns.
