The figure at the top of the ramp was hard to see, due to the fog created by the air inside the ship being released. After what seemed like forever, the figure descended the ramp. As they came into view, the figure was revealed to be a woman, but where her legs should have been, was a long, scaly tail. Her skin was a deep emerald green, and her skin was a light ivy color. Her eyes were slanted and contained glowing, yellow irises. Her face, arm and upper body where almost devoid of scales, excluding a few specific patches that peppered her skin like freckles. Her hair was green and fell around her face the way cobras would, and her when she smiled, one could clearly see the four fangs that took the place of her teeth. She seemed to pause for a moment when she saw the police-troopers outside her ship. Then she smirked and adjusted the straps on her leather vest before continuing down the ramp towards them. " Why hello there old friend," she purred, her tongue darting between her teeth. "Long time, no see." Tangi huffed before hoisting her gun a little higher at the woman face. " I wouldn't call us friends anymore. What are you doing here Viper?" The woman, now identified as Viper gave a little laugh, which sounded more like a hiss," Always with the guns Tangi dear! How about a hug instead?" Tangi just glared at her, before saying loudly, " We aren't friends anymore Viper, not anymore. Now, your just a criminal who I need to put away."

Her partner just stood there watching the whole exchange, a look of confusion on her face. Tangi continued, " I know you stole the Mother Stone Viper. Just hand it over and come quietly. If you do, I might be able to get you a lighter sentence." Viper examined her nails, completely uninterested and undeterred by what Tangi was saying. After what seemed like forever, she glanced up at them again, a wide smirk displayed on her face, "My dear Tangi," she exclaimed, putting her hand over her heart, " I have no idea what you're talking about! Why would I know what happened to your preciouses sstone?"  Years ago, Tangi would have felt compelled to let Viper go, but now she had no intention of doing so. This job was the most important of her career, as the fate of the entire galactic government rested in her hands. "Nice try Viper," she scoffed, hoisting her gun higher. " Like I would believe a criminal like you. You were seen running from the scene of the crime, and it just seems a little suspicious to me that you come back, around the same time the stone was stolen. Clearly, it's not a coincidence." Viper was silent. The only sounds in the area where the hum of Tangi and her partner's hypo-guns and the click of Viper's claws as they tapped on the side of her ship.

Then Viper started to move closer to the pair, slithering down the ramp with an air of purpose. She kept going until she was only two feet away from Tangi. "It doesn't have to be thisss way," she hissed softly. " You could turn around now, and pretend you never saw me." She was now circling Tangi, like a vulture does with its prey. " What I'm doing here is none of your concern." Tangi gripped her gun, her shoulders tightening in anger. She took a deep breath and aimed her gun at Viper's back. "No can do V," was the last thing that came out of her mouth before she fired three rounds of bullets towards the unsuspecting snake girl. Viper yelped and quickly dodged. But she was not fast enough and one bullet managed to hit her in the shoulder. With a scream of pain and a few colorful words for good measure, she sprang for her ship, slithering up the ramp as fast as she could, and started up the ship.

As the ramp started to retract and the engines roared to life, Tangi sprung into action and raced towards the quickly retracting ramp. But Viper seemed to be in a hurry and the ship started flying away with the ramp still partially down. Tangi continued to pursue the craft but was running out of space as the edge of the building grew closer and closer. As the ramp started to disappear, Tangi made a decision and took a flying leap, attempting to grab onto what was left of the ramp before it could fully close. Her fingers just skimmed the edge and managed to grab on and then her feet left the solid ground as the ship roared out of the building and raced through the streets.

In the past, Tangi would have struggled to pull herself up, but after all the training she went through at the academy she was able to quickly hoist herself up and crawl into the interior of the ship with just seconds to spare as the as the ramp folded up and the doors sealed shut behind her. She leaned against the wall, trying to catch her breath and slow down the rush of adrenaline that she was feeling. She was nervous and from her experience, that was not a good feeling to have when facing down a dangerous criminal. This would be the best of her career and she didn't need her nerves screwing it up. " Okay," she whispered to herself. " You can do this. Your only arresting your old best friend for stealing the most precious artifact in the entire universe. This is a piece of cake." After a moment, a quiet chuckle left her lips. " Aw, who the hell am I kidding." She whispered harshly. " This is the biggest bust of my career. I screw this up and I'm fired. ANd if the High Council hears about my failure, I can kiss my life goodbye and say hello to banishment." Tangi shook her head, trying to drive these thoughts from her mind. " I need to be focused right now," she said as she drew her gun and set it to stun. " I can't let old friendships get in the way of my future." with that thought in mind, she started to creep through the ship, hoping that Viper would be to distracted with her injury and getting away to notice her presence in the ship.

Back in the abandoned factory, Her partner sprung into action and grabbed the radio attached to their vehicle, and quickly contacted the other officers involved in the chase. " This is officer Martins and Tangi requesting back up at the old Holo car factory." she barked into the radio. " We are in pursuit of the suspect, who is attempting to escape. The subject is wounded and flying a Class 5 StarShip. Officer Tangi is aboard the vessel. Do not shoot it down, I repeat, do not shoot it down!" After a reply crackled through the radio, she sighed and jumped back into the car, before flying out to join in the chase. " Please don't do anything stupid Tangi," she whispered under her breath. " Your life is more important then you realize.
