Conversion at an early age.

Deep inside the night child's breast

Burns a fire not at rest

Consuming and casting shadows on the wall

Each one beckoning as they call

He swears that nothing is wrong

Despite flame's roar as loud as a gong

Turning his mind ablaze

As his thoughts are razed

Giving into the inferno within

But to give to light is the night's sin

Melancholic Wisdom

An excellent poem, the fire burning inside all of us is the brightest when we're young and hopeful, with so much creativity within us. Well done.
