- The Pale King -

Bow your head for the Pale King and heed his word,

For atop his head protrudes a crown of horns naming him master of the herd

He is that which keeps us to the light,

Our protection from the dark,

His obsidian eye ever watchful for the grasp of the night,

His diamond claws extended to kill his mark,

But stray not from his favor, nor betray his love,

As under the skin of marble and tissue of silver lies an inferno filled with sin,

And it is there that those souls go,

But praise the Pale King for the kindness above,

For even that fate is a blessing compared to the horrors of his kin,

The horrors of those that lie below.

Hiya, I saw your poem and I made a good choice in reading it! I love this all 'round- the vivid wording and imagery gives me goosebumps. Each line is perfect! No complaints, really great job on this! :)
