She speaks through her eyes,

their glow,

the way they shimmer in the light

when she wanders at night,

alone.

She tells her story through her eyes,

her hurt,

the way it pounds against her skull

when she lies down and pulls

the blankets to her neck.

She feels the world through her emotions,

their hurt, our hurt,

the way it encompasses the masses;

it passes

through her like light through a window. .

And she holds it, not for comfort

but for discomfort,

for the learning it brings.

She knows with great pain comes great responsibility,

and with great sacrafice

comes harmony.

And so she bears this weight of the world

for the sake of her own

kind.

She speaks through her eyes,

but who will listen?
