My first love.

I was chasing something,

I could not find,

I don't know how

I didn't see the signs.

Judgement were the clouds,

blocking the rainbow.

When I aked you,

you still chose to lie low.

I don't blame you though.

Why would you come out

and reveal to anyone you

were a rainbow?

You wanted to feel accepted,

not disrespected.

Appreciating the beauty of the rainbow,

was certainly unexpected.

I had a sheltered

heart, yet it reamained unprotected

So caught in my own way,

unaccepting of the gays.

So focused on the image I wanted

to convey, but the clouds blocked

my vision from seeing things another way.

I would pray every night

about being together.

I know when we are

around each other,

we strive to do better.

The sight of the rainbow,

wasn't all too pretty for me.

Now we are best friends.

The clouds have passed.

I love him for him.
