you fly off with the intent

of sweet nectar,

the fruit of phase from one spirit to another

that fuels your delicate wings.

A cry from behind trembles your frail body-

A call too familiar

yet mournful to avoid.

The most beautiful flower

in this meadow, that one stained with

their crimson tears

is the only hope for them.

That one with greedy thorns,

and carry it over.

They become awed by the delicate red beauty,

each petal a kiss of comfort.

But do they see your aching pierced feet?

Who is holding the rose?

You hover.
