An Army Of Misheard

Words.

Here they come, they’re ready

to take up their deployment;

this army, it is guaranteed

to go and cause annoyment.

Each soldier is a word of mine

a bullet that is shot;

and look, there are some hand-grenades

that I almost forgot.

Like talking in a mine-field

I think I need a gag

for when it comes to speaking out

my confidence will sag.

I’ll withdraw my army,

my mouth, it will stay dumb

for all these misheard words of mine

are making me so numb.

The meanings that I give to them

are lost in delivery;

I’ll leave a heartfelt message then

for everyone to see.

Enjoy the

silence!
