I know you in the quick catching of your breath the tears held back too long grief, reaching back in history for anything to cling to because this loss, though expected, was sneaky with just enough hope to be crushable and a need yes, a need to be strong.

You know me in the way my tears follow yours in the knowing that this space is safe whenever we share air there is no such thing as too emotional too needy too sensitive we know the power of vulnerability and the outcome of avoidance.

The air around us vibrates with the pain of your loss. Let it out then breathe in the cooler, fresher air of healing.
