Flick, flick, flick- flame

Ahhhhh!!

She ran

Arms upward

Flick, flick, flick- flame

Woooo!!

He reaches her

Sprinkler extended

Clack, clank- crash

“Give up, little…”

Omph!

Her foot connected

Sirens crash the memory

She kneels beside his grave

“Got to run big bro, be back in a flick”

Urgh! Thump!

The fence gives way

“Damn it these are my only jeans,

Cheap ass fence.” She kicks it.

Here it is

I turn into the alley

Ducking under crime scene tape, I sit where he had

“I am sorry grandmother, I don’t wish to wait.”

Flick, flick, flick- Flame

The bottom of the spoon is black

As the needle empties

Loneliness lingers

The city fades behind eyelids

“Nana! She kicked me”.

“You two love each other”

The memory keeps going this time

It was destined I’d die too.
