A mirror. A reflection. A reflection of pain and heart ache. A reflection of resentment, anger, and brokeness. A reflection of tears, both shed and unshed. A reflection marred with scars. A reflection recognized by it’s dark circles under the eyes. A reflection who’s trademark is a migraine. A reflection that’s always tired. A reflection fueled by nicotine and tylenol. A reflection of social anxiety and depression. A reflection that defines the word “bipolar”. A reflection searching for a purpose. A reflection in a crowd of people, and yet so alone. A reflection that can’t stand the sight of it’s own reflection. A reflection that always needs to know if you’re okay. A reflection that hates the thought of you hurt or suffering. A reflection that loves so many, but can’t even bear the thought of itself. A reflection that hates that it hates itself. A reflection that wishes for just an ounce of genuine happiness. A reflection that laughs too loud, for too long, just so it can keep the tears at bay. A reflection that wants to, no, needs to scream. A reflection that needs to cry, but has no more tears. A reflection that longs to be held. A reflection that yearns for love. A reflection that wants to be understood. A reflection that seeks the quiet escape of death. A reflection that seeks the joys in life. A reflection scared of death. A reflection even more terrified of life. A reflection that loves the world, and yet absolutely despises everything about it. A reflection that bottles all of this up, covers the mirror, puts on a smile, and lives yet another day.
