It was enticing when I first passed by

"Step into my parlor," said the spider to the fly

Perhaps I was too stupid or the spider too sly,

But I walked right in and I don't know why.

Drops of dew danced on the web

The spider led the tour with a nod of the head

"Here is the parlor, and the kitchen too.  You look a bit tired would you like a bed?"

That was the moment I should have fled.

Spinning while it spoke, that spider had charm.

It's voice, silky smooth, should have given me cause for alarm

But I was certain that spider could do me no harm

And then I was taken aback and caught off guard

I was deceived

Seeing only the beauty in the spider's weave

I went forth with my heart on my sleeve

Now I was trapped; never to leave

Here is the moral so listen well

Beauty and charm make one seem swell

But be wary of trusting, one can never tell

Don't fall into the same trap for which I fell
