Some say they're just words on a page,

mere black and white representations

that can mean a thousand things...

or nothing at all.

reminders etched in stark contrast,

on the canvas of your life

and carved into weathered lintels

surrounding varied pathways.

But when I look,

I see a myriad of different colors,

loops and angles creating vivid portraits,

destined to be both studied and hidden,

secret meaning apparent

when perused by keen, knowing eyes

or those who choose to delve deeper.

you know I wear my heart on my sleeve,

emotions clear in wide, glassy eyes,

reflected in a million measured strokes

of inky letters, dripping into form,

and slipping into a calling accepted.
