I rise up out of the ashes, like a Phoenix born again. You have stolen from me for the last time. You have torn at me piece by piece like a childhood blanket, you stomped on my dreams like they were a deadly fire; you were petrified they would be unleashed upon the world. I lost who I was, I forgot how to read and forgot how to speak. I once could hear colors and see the music of the universe around me. I danced in the forest to the sound of my heartbeat, thundering loud until you came around and shut me down. You said you loved me, would do anything for me but did that include pouring me down the drain when I was no longer of use to you? Some answers will never be revealed, I just know that I can see my song again and can hear the ocean blue push me up towards the surface. Some lessons in life I will never understand but breathing for me is easier again, without you.
