Clockwork World.

Let’s go on a trip. An investigation, if you will.

Let’s walk among the clockwork. You might not see it, but that does not mean it is not there.

Look! All around you. Everything is ticking and tocking along. Each person makes up a part of this one great clockwork heart. Each little action makes up a tick; each reaction is it’s answering tock.

Tick tock tick tock.

It’s all a case of cogs and gears you know!

See, I have the plan, I can show you how everything and everyone is interconnecting. From industry to science, from medicine to law; from human interactions – it’s all planned out to the smallest detail, the tiniest cog of them all. So long as they fit together the world keeps on turning.

Pick a person, any one you choose and I’ll show you. Look inside the head, at the multiple whirs that are taking place. Can you hear the rapid tick tick tick? Listen, carefully now! Yes, I can see that you’ve finally heard the noise.

Now the heart. Bigger gears, pulsating, thrumming, hear that tocking drumming, drumming. More of a tricky one, more likely to slip out of place, a cog clogs, a gear sticks, and suddenly the plan is set aside by a random slippage – these people like to call it passion. Love or hate – either can oil up the works.

So back to the world. It’s all interconnected by these whirling rods, turned by cogs, by gears. A tiny slippage, on a human scale, will not obstruct the turnings of this tick tock world. But a large scale stop of the tick and the tock will set the entire world into a steampunk block.

Cogs will grate and gears will slip, and the ensuing chaos will make the Earth trip. Lose it’s axis, lose it’s plan....

And if the tick and the tock come to a complete stop, then what?
