SOLITARY

A melancholy morning descends again

Shrouded forever in my sorrow.

What stranger thrusts themselves at me?

An attempt to break my silence.

There is comfort found in my solitude,

A calm, that eases me from within.

As medication poisoning me

To stave off the inevitable.

How long can one think of death

Before it is an affliction?

Is the thought mere pain?

Or is pain the catalyst for the thought?
