Sixth Sense

I am considered to be the “black sheep” of the family. I feel everything. I am the sensitive one who becomes upset with sarcasm and criticism. While others laugh and cajole me; I am often reduced to tears. I qualify this behavior as mean and have no tolerance for it.

I can sense the anger and resentment in a room; taking the role of diplomat trying to balance the tensions. This intuitive ability has been both a blessing and a curse. Helping me to unravel the silences of my students who are unable to speak. This skill has also been a source of sadness in my relationships. Feeling the lies behind the smiles and the anger behind the affection. Both blessed and cursed.
