Do you remember the mountain that stood here? I remember her as strong, sturdy and stable. The people were jealous of her. They wanted to be her, Just like all people want to be that which makes them feel weak. So they began to scale her With hooks, ropes and high hopes. Each man with one goal, To say they had bested her To say they stood on top. And like mountains get degraded By winds and sleet She too got eroded By words and boned feet. And then what was once a proud peak Stood bowed and weak. The people rove away They'd had their fill and had plenty to say The mountain wept With landslides of tears The people had come And filled her with fears With her head to the ground she heard a sound, Of the men attacking the next peak they chose to pound. The thought made her cold The people's stone hearts rendered her bold The tears froze over and became cold rigid ice To say she grew a thousand feet wouldn't suffice. The men arched their necks to see a broken mountain grow And with yell of conviction they ran with pick axes to resow. But this time, They couldn't climb. They slipped and they slided. In avalanches of will they were blinded So I ask you again Do you remember the mountain that stood here? This is her. But this time she refused to bend.
