Life off Track.

Your left arm veins

A roadmap

of the sadness that courses,

through you.

Outward scars a reminder

of attempts to hide

the inside ones.

An unsteady gaze

to lose focus

on the Life off Track.

Shades drawn

on the soul's windows.

Keeping your house dark.

You, safe within its

untangible recesses.

Each day I search for you.

Your heart, the ocean's tide.

A confused ebb and flow of openness.

Unpredictable and fleeting.

I'm never able to submerge

before your water retreats

like a ghostly fog

to your Life off Track.

Though you may not be here

I see you.

Hiding in plain sight

Deluded to your visibility.

I'll keep my doors open

and lights on

for when you're ready to return

from your Life off Track.
