SON

I want my son to be like you. The center of attention; Entering a room in all his glory. Causing the women’s hearts to flutter, And the men to be attentive. Still, when he opens his mouth, Neither will be disappointed. For not only is he beautiful, He in like manner possess a strong mind. Running on a quest for wisdom; A constant search for understanding. With a heart like solid gold. Holding on to his dreams; Never shaken by disappointments. Steadfast; what setbacks? My prayer is that he is loyal. Firstly, to the God of heaven; Who granted him as a wish. Placed in his mother’s heart, Before knitting him in her womb. Loving and protective of his sisters. Honoring us his parents; Having great admiration for his father; Who once was bent on being an athlete. It took a bus to crush that seed. However, it never died. That force became passion; A hunger for success rooted inside. Other trials brought tears to his eyes; Which became fuel once they dried. Strengthened in his isolation; Confidently, believing he was destined. But of all the giants he slayed, The fiercest was five-three in frame. Like the rescue of Fiona, Except she was also as the dragon. While he, her Hood Charming. Surprisingly, just the way she liked it. I use to have a blueprint, Of the kind of man I wanted. He had to be this tall, He had to be a certain age, I broke all those rules when you came. I want my son to be like you. The model; the measure, By which standards are made. Relentless in his veins. Not the problem; but the change. Fearless in his pursuits. Knowing that all he desires, Let them be known to God, For He grants desires of the heart.
