Her first real happiness

It felt as if she was floating down the road, like a ball floats away from the shore. No, she was happy, and the person she floated away from was happy as well. That’s why she didn’t float like a ball on the ocean, she floated more like a gondola on the canals of Venice, where everyone involved is happy.

She was happy because she had just kissed someone for the first time. And this someone wasn’t just anyone, it was someone she had been in love with as long as she could remember. She was happy because she had finally gotten permission to go out alone with someone. It was just a small café, and in the middle of the day, but she was alone with someone for the first time. And this was a special someone, she could feel it. But the biggest reason as to why she was happy was because her cocoa had turned cold while this girl and her special someone had talked. She was happy because this meant that she had been able to talk with someone about everything and nothing at the same time. She had been able to talk with someone for so long without thinking about her cup with hot cocoa with cream on the table right in front of her.

This is why she was floating down the road. She had met someone that could make her forget the world around her with just a few simple words. She had met someone that could make her feel a true happiness, deep inside her soul, just by sitting with this special someone, not drinking cocoa. “This is what life is about”, she thought. “Meeting someone that, just by sitting and talking about everything and nothing at the same time, can make you forget the world, if only for a small moment”.
