To the wind with your lights and smoke!
To the wind with your gospel joke!
To hell with your “Sinner’s Prayer”!
Who put the boy in the preacher’s chair?
You frolic in His verses, ignominious folly!
You waltz with demons so free and jolly.
Woe when sounds of angels shout
For surely He will spit you out.
This Christ, this cross, this is not a game,
Yet you treat them just the same.
You starve the sheep to feed the swine.
You starve their hearts like you did mine.
You will say “Lord Lord, what of the good I did do?”
He will say, “Depart from me… I never knew you!”
Repent! Your throat is a grave! Your tongue, it deceives!
Now cry out to the Lord! In the Gospel believe!
