A A A

It's dusk and the pool lights
Have just started cycling through a variety of colors
As we make our way to the lounge chairs
We're waiting for friends to arrive
So we can enjoy our last evening, all together with a lil lime
We've got a bag full of ice
Styrofoam cups along with Doritos & Fritos
A few bottles of chaser to use as mix
We've got a Bluetooth speaker box
That's pump'n out down right naughty beats
Once we've all assembled together
We begin our stroll over to the waterfront
It's literally just across the street & up one block
Tucked in behind the Hyatt Regency
This will be forever known as "our spot"
Just at the waters edge
With an amazing view of the harbour at night
Big Brother's presence in the area is clearly obvious
Camera's are everywhere
Every angle ... every direction
They likely have speakers listen'n to our every conversation
They're so high tech when it comes to Security
But when it comes to getting any real work done
They're still doin' it like they did hundreds of years ago
Nevertheless we shared conversations, selfies & groupies
We mixed vodka, a shot of chaser & cubes of ice
Until we finished the bottle that night
We laughed, we giggled ...
Sometimes there were even tears
As reality is hard
When two souls collide
We openly talked about life & relationship woes
This is a tight knit group that instantly bonded
They're people I now call my forever friends
In fact, they were the second I met them at the door
Stories were swapped, jokes were shared
While the roll-ons were passed around
Strangers walk by, most of them say good night
Then they quickly disappear off into the darkness
Never to be seen or heard from again
I take a moment ...
I look around & I quietly take it all in
It's 2:30 am ... in the morning
I'm in one of the most dangerous places in Trinidad
In Port of Spain ...
Casually sitting on the waterfront; relaxing & lim'n
With six of my newest & bestest friends
There's security cameras everywhere
But really ... does it even matter?
I've got a big fat one in one hand & a drink in the other
I'm snuggled in between 2 gorgeous Trinidadian women & we're bonding
I'm living life, enjoying each & every moment
No worries about yesterday or what might happen tomorrow
We're all just happy as fuck that we hooked up
And that we got to spend this time together
It's not goodbye ...
Its until next time ...
