A A A

I was sitting alone in a pitch black cave, my mind decaying to dust. I started walking on my own, until my heart was filled with hope, staring at your light. Run I did, to the arms of hope, fumbling on my rocks, Until I came to a sight, I never could have thought. At the bottom of your mountain, I came to my knees, Hoping the mud in my cuts would bring you closer to me. Under my chin I felt your caress, to lift my gaze towards the blue of the sky above, And the glimmer of sun off the blades you pulled out of my back, the same ones you used to cut the lies out of my spine. "Come with me." You said to me, and I stood to walk by your side. A mountain is of the Earth, and gives us unmatched strength, but is slow and steady, demanding respect from the hearts that walk their path. On the way to your summit, a river of sunshine flows through flowers to the valley down below. There was pain too, as rocks like knives poured from a cloud above my head. They cut my feet, which made things not as easy, but you were still by my side. You're not a crutch, but still I can hold you while I stand. Which made me more of a man than I ever thought I could be. We reached the peak while you lay next to me, overlooking the land in pure ecstacy. The red sun sets behind the trees, you kiss me and we jump off the mountain to no longer be. In our last moments together, your hand is around my heart, burning the seal of love to forever remind me of what was, and what one day could be. I promised not to promise that which I couldn't keep, and a promise was made, not to you, but to me. Never to forget what you mean to me. Or the way your eyes twinkle, like moons painted gray. Your rain from my clouds that cast a rainbow on my mind. In goodbye I say thank you, for this love that came to be.
