A poem describing how fear and anxiety can pull you under like quicksand. When the feeling of being overwhelmed hits and you try to fight your way out of that sinking feeling.

The problems you face pull you under like quicksand

You feel the cold, wet sand slowly taking you

Each time you struggle it tugs on you a little more

Before you realize how they have taken a toll on you

The sand is up to your neck and you don’t know how to get out.

Just when you are about to give up

You see a branch and reach out to grab it

As you start to pull and feel the release of the sand

The branch snaps in half leaving you there to sink.

Your mind is reeling, you are not sure of what to do

Then out of the blue a familiar voice yells in the distance

You aren’t able to answer, you have sunken so deep

Here comes that friend, just in time to offer a hand

You are pulled to safety and feel the relief

Knowing you are not alone and no problem is to steep.
