understanding what consciousness is plays a major role in our lives as humans. Unfortunately, most people are living unconsciously through habit.

What is consciousness? We have a body, mind, and consciousness. The mind is how we think, and act which creates a personality. If we can create different personality's for different scenario's then it can't be who we are. Thus, making the impression that whatever changes the personality is who we are. The body is the unconsciousness mind, and food we've collected over time. By this, I mean whatever we are thinking our body will portray through body language and action.  So if you're body is just doing what your mind is thinking, and your mind isn't you, your body can't be you. If your body is just accumulated food, and your mind is just accumulated beliefs they can be called yours like you own them, but it can't be YOU. Our consciousness is who we really are. This is the awareness within us that after a bad emotional reaction says, "maybe I shouldn't have said that." Thinking is the language of the mind, and feeling is the language of the body. In order to get these in harmony, you need to use your conscious to be aware of both and translate for the other. For instance, when your mind is stuck in survival mode trying to protect  your identity from rent, relationship problems, or trauma your body feels this stress response delivering a shot of adrenaline and chemistry giving you energy, but if you can't use that energy for something productive because you're stuck in a cubicle all day your body gets confused with this unused energy, and in turn gives you anxiety, depression, or insomnia. It's up to you to use your conscious to look what your body is telling you. This is the reason physical exercise is important and when in shape it even gives you a high. Usually, when you are at these states of being you are stuck in a habitual routine. In order to free yourself of these routines just become conscious of what you're thinking, and feeling. Naturally, you will realize why your feeling this way, and will know intuitively what you need to do to change it. The more you become conscious in everyday life the stronger your will gets, and the more control you will have over your actions.
