The junkies sway in the Autum breeze.

Their gaunt and shallow figures,

Not mimicking, but in sync, with the bare trees.

As leaves rain down around them

their used rigs and remnants of past lives,

join the red, yellow and orange blanket bellow.

Arms like thin branches and fingers no more than twigs.

You start to wonder,

How ever will they bear the snow?
