I cannot pretend; (it really does hurt),

I cannot amend; I cannot divert.

Unsure of myself; a fast-paced decline,

Can I find peace in a bottle of wine?

I drink and drink to fill this void,

But in the end, I am destroyed.

Killing my neurons; drowning my heart,

Will it reboot; will it restart?

Foolish, I know, not very mature,

To drink is to feel a little secure.

Drunken and forgotten; can I drown my pain?

Pain knows how to swim; drinking is in vain.
