Emptiness is not an acquaintance of mine. She is a close dear friend. Some of my other dear friends as sadness, loneliness, ugliness, hopelessness, anger, and failure. We all walk side-by-side, hand-in-hand. The whole bunch of us have been friends for many many years. The close-knit bonds have only grown much deeper and stronger over time. I do not do anything or go anywhere without my friends, they always keep me company. The only time they're not beside me is when it's showtime. This is when I put on my disguise for the audience. However, my friends are close by, just temporarily behind me. During my show I may perform acts of smiling, laughing, talking, being fully there physically and mentally for long periods of time. The longevity of the show always depends on the audience and location. But when the show is over, when the audience leaves and the curtain closes, I can't wait to run and take off my disguise. I'm exhausted! Acting takes a lot out of me. Just leaves me drained. So with no encore scheduled, my dear close friends come out from behind and take their place by my side once again.
