I look at you; what do I see

A reflection of me, of what I could be.

Is it selfishness or love

that the person I think of

looking into thine eyes isn't solely thee?

Maybe both. Is love selfish? Is that okay?

I couldn't say ...

but DO you see me that way?

Even down in this pit?

How could I possibly be fit?

Me, leached of all color, ash gray

And you so bright. But you share, you always share. How do you have so much inside.

You see, this depression of mine

Makes it so hard to climb

Back out in the sun

To be with the one

That lets me feel this divine

But you never give up. Why don't you give up. Please don't give up.

The man that I was

And the things that man does

He feels so wrong now

And I don't know how

You still love me, but you do. Because...

I know that I love you

There's nothing that's more true

But what's more: I know we're worth

All the time we have on earth.

Loving you has made me love me, too
