My lover, the wind

Our love changes, ebbs and flows
Like the seasons that come and go
I need you, I hate you. I love you.

You toy with me – pushing, pulling
shaking, lifting, loving, leaving.

Your touch caresses my skin,
You play with my hair -
make me shiver in pleasure.
Take my breath away.

But there’s a violent side to you
that frightens me to my core.
Slamming doors, shaking foundations
You lift roofs, screaming, breaking.
Sometimes you’re bitter, cold.

On days I wake to find you have left.
Not a trace in the air of your existence…

But return, you always do
with vengeance, with tears, with howling rage
sometimes out of the blue.

Your spirit lifts me,
fills me with life.
You’re always with me,
on me, in me
To you I am linked.

My lover, the wind
