Not a single light shining on the inside,

With flat monotony repeating on the outside.

Taking great effort to try and stand,

My limbs feel a consistency of sand.

”I’m so tired of fighting this battle”,

As my identity begins to rattle.

Day after day I feel shame,

Trying to accurately place blame.

Giving in to the intense pain,

I plead for help in Your Name.

As the cloak of the Divine starts to cover,

I place one foot in front of the other.
