My mind is wandering
to a place I never thought I’d go
I thought it was over
and that we were through
but for some unknown reason
you’ve crept back into my life
and your texts are making me wonder
it scares me to be reminded of our former life
it’s so different than the one I have now
so why are you here?
what do you want?
did we part for the wrong reasons?
is there unfinished business between us?
I need to know
I’m confused, scared & require clarity
are you trying to win me back?
and if so, in what capacity?
what about our past?
how do we reconcile what you took from me?
the money you scammed from me ….?
are you giving it back or hoping to gain more?
all these questions I have
has the pain and guilt of what you did been unbearable?
is sorry in your vocabulary?
how have you slept at night?
I’m a much stronger woman now
I’m quite able to stand on my own two feet
none of us is perfect, that I know for sure
but I’m so fuckin scared of the thought of us together
you always had a way of keeping things from me
so I’ll never know if you’re telling the truth
you never included me in your day to day life
and each time I invited you to share in mine
you never showed up
what could possibly be the attraction between us
I’m beginning to think I am crazy
for even exploring my dangerous thoughts
but you forced my hand
I had no other choice
