Anxiety came; it’s already here,

The darkness is lurking so very near.

I feel it in my veins; I feel it in my bones,

Depression’s taking over the body that it owns.

There is no escaping; nothing left but pray,

That, perhaps, it’s temporary; it’ll go away.

Hair is falling out; acne is now flaring,

And I am left too bitter; I’m not even caring.

Weight is going up, sometimes even down,

Sleepless are my nights; I’m missing my hometown.

I go out to the world wearing a smiling mask,

“I’m perfectly okay”, I’ll say to whom may ask.

Clueless are the people very close to me,

“Do not think that way!” as if it’s that easily.

“You are someone else; you are not the same”,

Some days I just forget that I even have a name.
